About a month ago I was asked by my friend and fellow book clubber, Mimi, to take some pics of her 1 year old son and their dog for her husband for Father's Day. Of course, I said yes and we scheduled the shoot for a few weeks ago at a park nearby and then some indoor ones at her home. I've had to stay mum about these until now since I didn't want to ruin the surprise. The pics turned out so cute and I really hope her husband likes them!
For the last week, my father-in-law has been in town with 2 of his friends from Colorado along with my husband at a cabin near Lake Mille Lacs in central Minnesota. They have dreams of fishing all day until dark and catching record Smallmouth Bass. When Josh called me at the beginning of the week to see if I could take that Friday off and come up for a couple of nights, I was all in. Work has been hectic so a little R&R in the north woods sounded like just the ticket. To make the weekend even better, we were contacted by Bassmaster to capture some photos of the lake to be featured in an upcoming article! Now for anyone who has ever been to Mille Lacs knows how vast of a lake it is. You can look at parts of it and you'd swear your looking at one of the Great Lakes. I wanted to find the perfect spots to really showcase it's size without being too overwhelming and making it look like you're just staring at water. Since I didn't know the exact nature of the article and was limited to taking pics from the shoreline, I decided to find some spots that perfectly summarize what Lake Mille Lacs means to me and so many others.

Hey there -I'm Bri! Lover of food, wine, and photography that is currently traveling with my professional bass fishing husband along with our cantankerous rottie, Kigen. When not traveling you can find me living the lake life off the shores of Lake Mille Lacs in Isle, MN. Pour a drink, pull up a chair and join me as I journey across the country documenting it all along the way! Archives
