You may recall about a month ago when I got out with a couple of families for some fall pictures. The second part of my photo shoot day led me to Arneson Acres in my hometown of Edina where I met up with my girl, Luanne and her two children. I've known Lu since she was pregnant with her son, Mavrik, managing at the bar my husband worked at. We went out for sushi one night to get to know each other and it's been history ever since!
The fall colors are finally starting to show themselves around the cities so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get a couple of shoots done with 2 families that are very dear to me. The first one I did was with my brother and his bunch. They wanted to get some shots of the four of them as well as some additional ones with my sister-in-laws family. We went to a trail located behind their development to start off and ended up at their house towards the end. I knew I was going to have my work cut out for me as my nephew is on the autism spectrum and absolutely hates the camera. He's not talking yet and expresses himself emotionally so it can be a challenge to figure out a good way for him to smile for pictures. I don't usually shoot family scenes in shutter priority but since time was of the essence, I didn't want to waste potential moments with manual mode. This seems to have paid off and I'm super happy with how the pictures turned out even though the group shot was a bit of a struggle (as seen above)!
About a month ago I was asked by my friend and fellow book clubber, Mimi, to take some pics of her 1 year old son and their dog for her husband for Father's Day. Of course, I said yes and we scheduled the shoot for a few weeks ago at a park nearby and then some indoor ones at her home. I've had to stay mum about these until now since I didn't want to ruin the surprise. The pics turned out so cute and I really hope her husband likes them!
Over the weekend, my sister-in-law gave birth to our newest nephew, Jaceon Jeffery Clark. He is a spittin' image of his older brother, JJ, and as sweet as can be. When I got to the hospital about 12 hours after he was born they said that he had yet to cry and was the most laid back of the bunch so far. JJ has already claimed him as "his baby" and I have a feeling they are already best friends. Josh and I are headed over to their house again later this week and over Memorial weekend is JJ's birthday party so we'll definitely be getting our baby fix! That's the great thing about being an aunt and uncle. When the crap hits the fan and the kiddos start screaming their heads off, we can just head out to our peaceful little abode!
